Well my friends, I have good news. I now have a piano. Yes indeed. I was informed that the First Southern Baptist Church (I believe that is the name), was trying to find a new home for one of their old pianos. I called the church and made arrangements to pick it up. And now we have a piano in our basement. For those of you who this might interest, it is a Schiller upright grand piano. Or that's what I think the name is. Anyway.... if you ever get the idea that a piano would look nice in your basement. Either cut a large hole in the side of your house, or else hire about 5 well trained professional wrestlers to come and carry it down the stairs. All the work of carrying it, however, is soon forgotten when you play on it. To my astonishment, when we got the piano home and set it in the right place, it was still tuned well enough that when i play up and down scales I can't tell that it's out of tune. I'm sure that many people could, but not I. Anyway, I think the simple fact that I took the time to post about it says enough about how much I like it. So with these thoughts in mind. Ta Ta -Jacob

Posted in Uncategorized on November 1, 2007 by JacobFriday and Saturday
Posted in Stuff that I should have posted several days ago, Today's events, Uncategorized on July 29, 2007 by JacobWell, I was going to post last night, but I was way too tired to bother
so I didn’t. Which means that I have to pack twice as much stuff into
the same amount of words. Ok, on Friday, I helped Johnathan Yoder pick
up garbage north of Hutchinson. Nothing extremely interesting happened
though. By the time I got home I was quite tired, but rather than take a
nap like I often do, mom told me to do some mowing. So when I was done
there, I showered and sat around for a few minutes then Mikey came over.
After I showed off my mad piano skills (or something like that) and
showed off the port a-poty truck, Mikey took me out for dinner (in
celebration of my birthday). As always Mikey allowed me to make the
choice of where we would eat. I chose Playa Zule (ok I have no idea how
to spell that). My reason for this choice was mainly ’cause I had never
been there and had thought it looked like an interesting place.
Anyway… We ate there. …Good food. …Except for the fingernail in
the salsa. Just kidding. Anyway then Mikey took me home and after that
I’m not sure what I did.
Ok, today… Well to start off with, the previous night I didn’t get and
extremely large amount of sleep, but that was fine because today was
Saturday so I could sleep in. …or so I thought. However, at 6:30 I was
woken up by dad. He wanted me to come out and help pick corn. So that
was how my day started. I did all sorts of things in the morning, then
at 12 I went to get my hair cut. My aunt Hope Kramer (Fair crest Salon)
cut my hair. …But barely. I really didn’t want my hair cut too short
so I told her not to take too much off. Anyway, my dad couldn’t tell
that i had gotten my hair cut, but that was ok with me. Anyway, so then
I sat around while my brothers got theirs cut and Emily got her hair
washed. Sigh… then finally we came home. Sigh sigh sigh. And a while
ago I packed my stuff to leave tomorrow. Sigh sigh. That about sums it up.

If someone would like to comment and correct me on the spelling of that
restaurant I would be most appreciative. Also, this is another rambling
post which I haven’t read over so sorry about the grammatical errors.
Thursday
Posted in Music, Stuff that I should have posted several days ago, Today's events on July 27, 2007 by JacobWell, I decided that I would write a post. The main reason is that I’m planning to leave on Sunday afternoon, and I figured that if I would post today and tomorrow and Saturday everyone who sees my blog would say to themselves “Jacob is starting to post again. Good for him.” And since I won’t be able to post for along time since I’ll be in the East for a long time without Internet access. This is Thursday and I only worked for Nisly Bros. once this week for a variety of reasons. While being off work can be fun at times, it never happens when I’m off work. Being ‘off work’ always results in far more work anyway. And like I heard Ruben Ristrom once say, “When mom ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” This I’ve found is an ever present factor.
Like some of you may know, I’ll be going to the East for at least a week an a half or two weeks starting on Sunday. I have mixed feelings about this trip. The good part about the trip will be sitting back and relaxing at my grandma’s place (IF that actually happens). And the bad part… ….Well one bad part is that I’ll be missing two piano lessons in a row, but there are other things such as the two days before the wedding which will undoubtedly be mainly people yelling at each other in an all around high-stress atmosphere. Hrmmm… enough about that stupid subject.
About the only other thing that I can think of talking about right now is my piano lessons. I’m starting to enjoy my lessons more and more, and though frustrating at times, I am quite fond of playing my keyboard. I am having some struggles with my keyboard playing, the first problem which is obviously making my fingers do what they are supposed to. The music that I’m trying to play I can sight read easily, but making my fingers do what my brain wishes they would do is more difficult. Another problem I’m having is trying to play on Maria’s piano which like all pianos has weighted keys, when I’m used to playing on my keyboard which doesn’t have weighted keys. Hopefully I’ll eventually get used to it though.
Well this has been at typical rambling post, and I’m not going to take the time to go over it and scan for errors so please excuse them. I know they are there. …like always.
Your faithful blogger, IRONY! (David should enjoy that)

Youth Thingy
Posted in Today's events on June 30, 2007 by JacobWell this has nothing to do with music or anything like that but, I
thought it would be worthy of posting. Well, tonight the youth group
kids had some kind of pizza making race? Or that’s what I presumed after
about 5 different groups of excessively hyper kids tore into our drive
in some kind of psychotic frenzy, slammed on the breaks and burst into
our house demanding some type of food to cover a pizza crust with. The
point of this email is not to update you on the current activities of
our youth group, but to recognize the true kindness of one particular
group. This group, consisting of Joel and Grant, Andy Yoder(?),
Crystal Yoder, and Kenny Graber, simply came into my house, sat down and
chatted for a while, and washed my dishes. I would like to recognize the
dishwasher, Grant Iwashige! Thanks Grant. Oh, also the group used our
oven for a while to bake the pizza, but that’s not really all that
important.

Jamfest
Posted in Friends, Guitars, Music on June 11, 2007 by JacobWell, I was going to quit this whole ‘series’ thing and just start posting about normal life, but Jeff told me to do a few more of these. Anyway… Here is a pic from Mikey’s birthday party that was at our place a while back. We basically got all the guitars that were there and a few swords, posed and “made memories”. Enjoy…

David Yutzy
Posted in Guitars, Music on April 11, 2007 by JacobWell, I don’t have a picture of the muscian, but I have a picture of the guitar. It’s David Yutzy’s Squire Stratocaster. The reason the gig bag says Fender on it is (for those of you who know nothing about guitars) Squire is made by fender but if simply not as high quality as the actual Fender.
The reason I don’t have a pic of him playing is when I took the pic, he wasn’t around. He simply left it at my place for me to tune while he went hunting. Anway… Enjoy…
Musical Musings
Posted in Music on April 7, 2007 by JacobWell, folks, I have decided to start a “series” of blog posts that mainly consist of pictures of muscians and their instruments, and a few words about either the muscians or their instruments. I’m not sure how many posts I’ll have, but I guess we’ll have to see. Anyway I have decited to start off with a painting of /The Old Guitarist./ Enjoy…
